Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the typical time period from shipment of samples to receipt of test results?

A: Our standard “official” turnaround time for analytical results for most air methods is two weeks or ten business days from receipt of field samples.  Our actual analysis turnaround time averages 4-7 business days.  (Filterable particulate methods (i.e., EPA 5 and 201A) are reported in one week.)

Q: Do you offer quick turnaround times?

A: Yes.  In fact, 20-30% of our business is probably requested on a “quick basis.”  Ask us about rates and availability.  Note: Quick turnaround times may be limited for certain methods.

Q: Do you offer services for ambient air analysis?

A: Yes.  We have experience in a variety of ambient air methods.  Please acquire about availability.

Q: Do you offer on-site analysis?

A: Yes.  Our setup fees vary with instrumentation required.  In addition to a general setup fee we also charge a daily rate fee per analyst and normal analytical prices.

Q: How long do you store analyzed samples and data associated with their analysis?

A: We generally archive field samples for six months before disposal.  Test results are stored indefinitely and backed up digitally every month.

Q: How do we receive our results?

A: Typically, we fax a summary table of results to the client as soon as they are approved by quality assurance.  A full copy report containing the actual data and case narrative (as well as the summary page) is then mailed to the client the same day.  We can also email PDF format reports at the client’s request.  There is no extra charge for emailing deliverables.
